Time really does fly when you’ve got work to do. But in the time that I’ve been away, I’ve made sure I’ve found, read, and thought about a few things to actually write about.
Firstly, I was initiated into watching the BBC TV Series ‘Sherlock’ by the Ranting-human. A 21st century adaptation of the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Whilst retaining the characters and setting, the plots and schemes have been changed, often a mixture of several ideas from the original – symbology, cryptic messages etc.
The first episode – ‘A Study in Pink’ introduces the viewer to Sherlock and Watson in a contemporary setting, with the use of computers, laptops and mobile telephony (texting in particular). Sherlock showcases his deductive powers of reasoning in a thrilling 90 minute episode unravelling a case of serial suicides. The other two episodes are titled ‘The Blind Banker’ and ‘The Great Game.’ A season of ‘Sherlock’ is but 3 episodes, 3 riveting episodes. Now I wait for October 2011, when the hunt resumes.
Mahindra-Maini-Reva is set for an upgrade – goes further to a charge, perhaps a bit faster too, and has space for two more people. I’d say it is about time now, I mean how long can anybody ignore the beating the poor Reva got from Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson. The Reva is marketed in England as the Reva G-Wiz. Here is an excerpt from an article he wrote reviewing the G-Wiz for The Times.
“…0-60 mph is impossible because it doesn’t even go as high as 60…this is the first car I’ve driven that seems to have no top speed at all. It’s like walking, only less comfortable. And it’s very small. It gets even smaller when you are sitting inside…”
The news story about certain top executives of noted investment firms getting caught in an insider trading racket caught my attention too. The biggest crook amongst us humans is either from Wharton or from the banks in Wall Street, or belongs to the Congress Party in India.
Something I thought and maybe you did too but ignored it:-
We are on a small planet somewhere in the universe, riding on some false notions of control when there really isn’t. We can’t see this universe, special thanks to our life-sustaining atmosphere, which we like to ruin slowly at will untill one day when we all breathe in Nitrogen alone and exhale God knows what. We could be gazing out at the vast expanse, the enormity of the universe and be fascinated, all of us. There’d be nothing separating any one of us. We’d all just be there and enjoy it. But instead, we limit ourselves to the pursuit of money, built around the notion of a God and a religion, both of which thrive on money, and give each other a hard time.
They tell you that we’re running out of water (after doing everything from polluting the rivers to raising temperatures globally by burning fuel) but they won’t tap the oceans because it costs too much. They’d rather spend billions on war, counterterrorismĀ and developing weapons, and the latest – handout freebies for votes. This planet has water, enough arable land for food, enough resources for building shelter, pursuing a hobby, sing, dance, play, study, inquire, learn, educate, serve, star-gaze, and what bloody not. How the hell did we embrace pseudo systems like religion and money and politics? Baffling. We’ve been evolving into brighter, smarter beings and very soon, somewhere in the year 2100, kids of that age will ask their grandparents – “What the hell were you guys doing back then? You guys consumed everything on this planet and saved some printed pieces of paper of no practical value. You guys actually adopted a festering turd of a system called ‘money.’ And Adam Smith got you blokes into this? What an arsehole!”
Fantastic work from a man I respect. I definitely endorse the idea of all human being standing together ignoring that the society has become of late.
When it’s nothing lads just fight, when its about religion the provinces stick together, when it is war the citizens of a nation stick together, when it is world war the nations stick together. They polarise into two groups just become humans naturally like to be competitive. If all humans need to stand together we need a war on a much bigger scale. We need aliens.
